Lazy Days

Oh how I wish I could swing in the new hammock. It is a lovely day. My kids are running around, full of energy. They can find the hammock and use it as if it were an amusement park ride. Each of them is trying to flip each other out of it. I don’t intervene. I let them play, vigorously. I hope they don’t get injured. At the same time, I am excited that they are so happy and carefree.

We can be childlike in the sense of never losing our curiosity about life. It is crucial to take time to just be. Kids can be who they are without worry of more responsibilities. I like to teach them that they are responsible for taking care of themselves and their belongings. That is enough for now. Another aspect of their lives is learning to love learning. My son asked to listen to some information I listen to. I did not have to beg him to listen to that information. He took it upon himself. He took the initiative. He was not lazy and decided to take it upon himself to get his education. He was enthusiastic about it. He realized that there is a time to enjoy the weather and a time for personal growth.
