If you go for a bike ride and others are behind you walking. It is wise to turn around and go back and catch up with them and do it as many times is necessary. There are times when you are trying to accomplish something and you have to take a few more passes at it to get it done right. You know you messed it up. You have to course correct. You don’t want to end up at the same place, but you don’t want to leave anyone behind. That is true leadership.
When you want everyone else to succeed. You look after the needs of everyone else. You may not be able to make everyone happy. You are able to monitor where everyone is at. If you don’t, then you aren’t doing a good job of leading. If you don’t know what the strengths and weaknesses of your team/family is, then you need to go back around and figure it out.
It is vital to go around again and figure it out. They need you to know how best to keep up with them. They need to know how best to keep up with you. They may surpass you. You can go around again.
