My youngest is “reading” to me. I cannot stress enough how important it is for kids to have a love of reading. There is so much you can do when you dive into books. When the kids just see reading as something that is fun, they will naturally gravitate towards reading. When they read they will learn. They will get ideas. When they get ideas, they will have thoughts. When they have thoughts they will have feelings. When they have feelings, they will take actions. When they take actions based on their feelings, they will have habits.
As adults they will know the benefits of reading. I want to teach them this valuable lesson. If I teach them nothing more in life, I hope that is the one thing they learn. My daughter wants a reward for reading.
Little does she know that the rewards are far reaching. I think I read that somewhere. I know the benefits of reading books. Not just any books. Books that highly successful people are reading are books I want to read. The key is to apply what is learned in the books. I never want to stop reading. I never want my kids to stop reading, learning, and growing. Hopefully, I can be the best example of that.
