My daughter requested scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. I was happy to comply with her request. She knows what she wants. There is no doubt that she is clear about her likes and dislikes.
I make it clear that I am happy to oblige except when it puts too much on me to make it happen. If I have to go to the store in a blizzard to get eggs, it is not going to happen. If I don’t have eggs. I don’t have eggs.
I am willing to do what it takes to make my kids happy. However, there are times when I do not do everything that is requested. I am human and have only so much band with. If you tell me at seven o’clock at night that you have a report due, I might be able to go get a printer to print out your report. It depends on what it is. I also, don’t want my kids to get in the habit of procrastinations. When we put off what we know we should do, it can scramble our lives. We don’t know what to do. We don’t have the clarity. I love how my kids teach me lessons as well.
