Our kids may see difficult times. It is hard to see our kids go through hard times. We don’t want to see them suffer. We wonder why things happen. It is because we feel powerless. Even adults go through trials.
The only way to explain it is that they can be opportunities for growth. We can suffer at our own doing. It can bring perspective, clarity, and direction to our lives.
When we suffer we are drawn closer to God. We are trained in righteousness. The testing of your faith produces perseverance. We also glory in our sufferings. God’s hope is in our hearts. God harnesses our pain and teaches us to go in the direction he wants us to go. We know as parents how this works. We don’t want our kids to get hurt. If they touch the stove and get burned, they won’t touch the stove again. Hopefully you can catch it. You may have learned from our past to help those in our charge to have a better future through their trials.
