I knew I had to get a lot accomplished today. I set out to do what I set out to do. I worked later today, that I usually do. I was on a mission. I also took the time for a little restoration. It was wonderful. After I worked, we were able to go swimming. It was cool, fun, and refreshing. Not just in the physical sense. It was a transition into relaxation. It was wonderful. Have you taken the time to restore your soul? Have you done something that has made you feel, alive and new?
Having time to restore your sense of peace after pushing your mind or body for a long period of time, is the best thing you can do for yourself. Doing something you enjoy will lift your spirits and allow little moments of joy to wash over you. We all need a little restoration. Not just anything. Something that is a break from the ordinary routine, to break up the routine, mundane, status-quo. Restoration is a beautiful thing. Moms and Dads need a little restoration from this busy life to become better parents and to allow for the example of restoring ourselves.
