After a meeting I had, I was asked if I wanted to play both roles. I was assigned a role and I had to take on another role. I decided to roll with it. I decided to roll with things as the come. I have resigned to give up controlling everything. There are only a few things that I can control.
There are good things that will happen and there are bad things that will occur. I can try to prepare for some unforeseen events. With children, there are always events that come up. You can expect the unexpected with children. They get sick, they have their moments, they get upset, they have accidents, and they are still learning. If I try to control every aspect of their lives, what am I teaching them?
I can encourage and guide them. I can’t do everything for them. I want them to learn to thing for themselves and to be at ease with the events that come their way. I can only do this if I just roll with events as they arrive, good or bad.
When good things happen we celebrate and when bad things happen we learn from it and roll on.
