Having some time to reflect on what needs to be done without my kids around is priceless. Don’t get me wrong. I love my kids. There are times when I need to focus on them and other times when I have a deadline to meet.
I have 1700 emails. There are important projects that I have to work on. I have a long to do list. There are ideas racing in my head. Managing everything is not easy.
Finding the time to goof off, is essential. All work and no play, makes me sad. It depends on what your idea of goofing off, is. There are times when I get to spend times with friends, helping them with a project or giving them a reference or a tool to use.
Being around individuals who are moving in the direction of success is beneficial. It you do not enjoy your time with them, there is a problem. If you truly cannot find some miniscule reason to be happy around them, then you have to find a solution.
The only way to figure out what you want out of life is to experiment. You have to play. Go out and play. Don’t get into trouble. Do what you want. Figure out what is important to you. Yes, goof off, have fun. Get into some shenanigans. Dare to move past the norms in your life. Do something different. Action is required. Having fun is mandatory.
