My kids broke my laptop. They didn’t know that when you put water on your keyboard, it fries the whole computer. I was upset, at first. They did not know what they didn’t know. It is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
I was planning on replacing all of my computer equipment before the end of the year anyways. It is not that critical to have a new laptop. The laptop was used for work. I began to count my blessings because it is not a work computer. I own the laptop. I could not have imagined and trying to explain it, to a boss. Letting go of blame, anger, and regret over all of the issues associated with damaging your computer, went away.
My kids were honest about what happened to the computer. They could have denied it. The information on the laptop maybe salvagable. I’m trying to find the positive out of something that could be negative.
Just because things aren’t going right does that mean that we have to act in a way that is not respectful. I did not yell at my kids. I explained to them what went wrong .
Having a positive attitude in the most difficult circumstances, can bring out excellence. Just because you are injured, doesn’t mean you are broken.
