Playing with each other is something that the kids do on occasion. They actually like each other. They want to spend time with one another. They enjoy doing things. It does not have to be some great physical activity or game. They love to be around one another.
I am not sure how that happened. I am grateful that they do appreciate on another. When they see how we model our behavior, they in turn model that same beahvior.
I found out that my son did not want to go swimming with his sisters one day. I was surprised. I asked him why he did not want to go swimming. He told me that he had sunburn. It was perfectly logical that he did not want to get any more sun. So, he stayed home. He was not being antisocial. He knew he had to take a break from the sun.
It did not occur to me that he had a perfectly good reason for not wanting to play with his siblings. He does take good care of them when he is in charge of them. He is getting older and wiser.
It is good for the kids to play together. I am not concerned when they don’t play with one another. It is a lot to expect them to play with one another all the time.
