I love to make meals for my kids. There are days when quick is not quick enough. We have a pressure cooker. We have a microwave. This is not my ideal dinner. Having a nutritious meal made by me, would be the ideal meal. They are hungry when they get home. I am usually working up until they get home. Therefore, dinner is made later on.
I teach them to prepare their own meals. They can create what they want. We start small. They can unwrap something frozen and move on to more complex meals. They need to learn those skills for survival.
When they get the basics down we move on to more challenging meals. Sometimes it is a challenge just to teach them how to unwrap a box. When they are super hungry they would just rather eat something else than go through the hassle of making a meal.
