My girls are dressed like unicorns. They love Unicorns. I want them to hold on to the belief that life can be magical and wonderful. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want them to be delusional. We are enjoying our time together today. Two Unicorns, Three Dogs, and One Cat are all in the vicinity.
There might be a story in there, somewhere. I will allow my kids to pull it out of their imaginations. They can pretend to be whatever they want right now. They can get all the love and attention they want right now. When they are older they may not want to give me love and attention.
They may not understand why they may not get as much attention. They may not understand why Mom and Dad can’t play all the time. They may not understand why Mom and Dad have to go to work. All they know is that our time together can be fun and magical. That is good enough for right now. Two Unicorns are better than one.
