It is that time of year when the kids go back to school. Do you think that you will have it easier, because the kids are not at home? You would be mistaken. The kids are getting back into a routine. There is an adjustment.
No more leisurely days of summer. The kids don’t want to do homework. I have other things that need to be done. The prodding to complete the assignment gets exhausting. There is frustration all the way around.
My daughter is distracted by other tasks that have to be done. We have a guest in our house. She allowed our guest to help her with her homework. I had to make a deal with her so she would get all of her stuff done.
I do want her to realize that it is important to get rewards for taking action. I don’t want her to get prizes for doing her homework. I asked her to get all of her items together for school, listen, get her clothes out, brush her teeth, and listen to us.
I have my feelings about homework. I think they need to practice.
