You do have to take action. You have to hear the hard truths. If you just read and don’t apply the information you read, then you did not learn anything. If you do take action every day, then everything starts to fall into place. If you learn something new, but don’t try it out, then you just wasted your time. There will be disappointments and failures. Learn from the failures and move on. Follow your instincts and ask successful people for help. They realize what it takes to be successful. Get up and do it again.

What did I learn today?
I did learn something cool, yesterday. I learned that you want to make your boss look good. If you make them look good, they like you. Today, I learned that in order to grow, you have to let go. You can put aside expectations and all of your attachments, including who you have to be, and just be. Being conscious about being in the moment and not expecting anything. Somedays will not go your way. Don’t get mad about it, adapt. It is always good to learn a lesson and find a solution. Stop complaining and focus on the solution. I also, learned that you can step outside of your comfort zone if you just let go.
The End of the Year or a New Beginning?
I have done many things this year. I am trying to figure out what to do next year. Some of the most important priorities to me are not met on a daily basis. My children are the most precious priority to me. One thing that I will change right now, is spending more quality time with my children. I have not asked anyone else permission to make them a priority. I must do this out of a sense of duty. They will benefit from having a positive role model and quality time. To shift my other priorities so that they can be move up higher on the list is of utmost urgency. Life is too short, not to spend it with family.
Looking to make changes
Why wait until the new year to make changes? Why not start now? Life is short. Come up with a plan. Write down your goals. Focus on the actions that will lead you to your goal. Small changes over time will help you build up. Eliminate excuses. Tackle your fears. Change your thinking. Overcome obstacles. It sounds simple. Yes it is simple. It is not easy. There will be frustration and many more obstacles to overcome. The pain of regret can be more painful than the pain of changing your ways.
Does the past really matter?
I believe that it does not, unless you keep making the same mistakes over and over again. When you have created a reputation, where you are known for making mistake after mistake, you many not be able to redeem yourself at that place or with that particular person. You can move on to another situation, but if you don’t learn from those mistakes or change your behavior, you end up in a different situation with the same problems. It is best to come up with a solution and press on. The only opinion that really counts is the one from God. Are you doing what he has called you to do?
Am I making an impact?
Have I made a difference in someone’s life? Does what I do matter? Do I keep doing what I am doing? So many questions are looming. Some things have got to change in order to make an impact. Sometimes, just reaching out to someone you haven’t talked to or a kind word can make an impact. Being the best you can be and doing the right things are ways to make an impact. You don’t have to change millions of lives. If you change one persons life, you can change generations of lives. It is easy to sit back and feel sorry for our selves when things don’t go the way we expected. We must have courage and press on.
Going against the grain
Having different ideas and pursing them can cause friction. Others may not share the same philosophies. We can create our own friction and become our own worst enemies. When we fail we can beat ourselves up. There is resistance from others to ideas. Sometimes, the ideas are not for that particular person. Forcing our views on others is no way to make friends. It can seem unnatural to go against the grain. You may work against yourself. Resisting the urge to change, is a natural thing. The world is changing. Rising above or going a different path than others is not easy. The least we can do is stop talking to ourselves in a way that is not productive or negative. Start with ourselves first than help others.
Never stop dreaming
In the midst of daily life, we can get caught up in a routine tasks. We forget to think about the direction of our lives and what is really in our hearts. Taking the time to dream each day is important. I have several journals. I take one with me. I have one by my bed. Another journal is at work. One is at my desk in the office at home. Ideas can hit us at any time. If you don’t write them down and take action on them, your dreams may not come true. Always take the time to dream. That is only the beginning.
Something clever
The urge to impress is strong. However, I have to stay true to myself. I must carry on with what I am doing. No matter how hard it gets. Putting pressure on myself to say something profound, is useless. I am going on a few hours of sleep. I just want to get a jump on the day. So, I am writing, just for the sake of writing. Having a real breakthrough, and being clever won’t happen unless I keep doing my best. This may take days. Continuing to do what I enjoy and not caring about what others think, is the most clever thing I can do.
When all else fails pray
I had to deal with a difficult situation, today. Confronting others with difficult issues is never easy. Being a grown up is hard work. Facing those who hurt you or hurt someone you care about is not easy. Trying to figure out what to say to preserve the relationship and resolve the issue, is tricky. There is a fine line. You want to work the issue out with that person rather than offend them or hold on to your pain. Address the issue, don’t attack the person, look at their behavior, and let person know you still value them. If all else fails pray.
